Promotional products also help in creating a need for products and services. They generate word of mouth advertising. When people see someone carrying and using a product, they tend to evolve a need for it as well. Some even ask about where the person got that product from, and in turn spread the word around.   Freestyle Football is Trendy Nowadays, But How and Where It Evolved?

In this day and age, we often see freestylers perform ridiculous and yet amazing tricks and moves not only on TV advertisement but on the internet as well. Whenever I play footy with my fellow friends, they enjoy doing fancy footwork regularly which sometimes makes me envy and sometimes amazes me as well. At the time, I wondered how and where it all began.

I took the initiative to ask a couple of my friends and browse through forums. Most of them thought freestyle football came from Brazil because a lot of amazing skillful kids and players out there who can do bizarre tricks that are not even in the book. But some say it came from Holland probably because of Edgar Davids' background and how he used to play at the backyards with his friends.

Where it began remains unknown and mysterious among us football fanatics. Prior to the late 90s, players like Pele, Johan Cruyff, De Stefano and others all juggled a ball for practice to improve their control techniques (touches, balance, coordination).

After that, freestyle football really took off in the early 80s when Diego Maradona displayed his mastery in control (juggle a ball, an orange, a golf ball, a tennis ball etc) and performed in half-time shows during Argentine Clausura matches. In fact, one of his famous skills of all time was the Maradona 7 where a player juggle the ball with the right foot, then the left foot, followed by the right thigh, then the left thigh, subsequently the right shoulder, then the left shoulder and finally the head.

While Maradona became successful and popular, others tried to follow but failed. His brilliance inspired Hao Young Woo, a South Korean who worked extremely hard to develop his juggling skills and eventually earned a reputation as a football entertainer and inspired new generation such as Abbas Farid as well.

As the years gone by, most freestyle players were Mr. Woo inspired, preferring to juggle and control the ball using all parts of the body only. Until the early 21st century, Touzani and Nelson were among the new generation of freestylers preferring fancier tricks with different combination and variations of around-the-worlds and other lower body tricks. Both Touzani and Nelson and other freestylers compete in Amsterdam for the MOTG (Masters of the Game) competition in 2003.

Back in the days of Pele, Maradona and Cruyff, the word "freestyle" was unknown and no one has ever heard that word before in the world of soccer at least until the late 90s. Then, in the late 21st century, Nike came in as they launched an advertising campaign promoting the players and the competition. One of campaigns is to allow participants to submit their own video clip and receive feedback worldwide at NikeFootball. Thus, opens the door for the likes of Touzani and Abbas Farid to display their skills worldwide and become more popular.

In addition, other service companies such as You Tube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, Metacafe, Grouper, iFilm and others provide similar websites that allows you to upload your own videos including your own football clips. So that other would-be freestylers are able to submit their own video as well.

Although recent changes made throughout the decade especially the internet have raise it's popularity, people are yet to know the origins of freestyle football and will continue to speculate it.

  Our Wedding Destination

Karen's vision of a beach wedding was all about the sunset. Karen's family has a beach house in Seacrest Beach, just up the street from Seaside Beach, so they've spent many evenings watching the amazing sunsets drop below the surface of the gulf. Karen and I rented houses in the same line of houses on Seabreeze Trail next to her parent's beach house. Our plan was to make it as convenient for our families to get to know each other as possible. To date our families have never met and were anxious to see how their future son and daughter became the people they are. Her parents are from Florida and mine are from Indiana.

The neighborhood is a string of 12 houses all three stories with balconies with fabulous ocean views. Karen's parent's house is known as the Ivory Tower, a fitting name because of the color and the height that the house towers over the gulf shore below.

After spending the previous couple of days enjoying the beach with my family and Karen's the morning of the wedding, September 30th, 2006, has arrived. How many times did I get asked, "are you nervous"? Not me, I'm marrying the woman I was meant to be with.

My best man, Chris (my brother), and my groomsmen, Mark and Scott, two of my best buddies, arrived right on time. We were expecting the photographer to appear for photographs of the preparation, an hour goes by an no photographer. The photographer is late, we're disappointed because our time is dwindling. Luckily Chris has brought the beer to help calm the nerves and pass the time.

Finally the photographer shows and its off to getting our pictures taken. Our good luck was it is a bright beautiful day, unfortunately, it is a bright day, so sunglasses are a requirement.

The time has come to leave for the Seaside Pavilion where the wedding will be performed by my Aunt Doris from Indiana. The Seaside Pavilion is adjacent to the beach, wind is lightly blowing, and the temperature is very comfortable. There couldn't have been a more beautiful day any where in the world and this is the day Karen's has envisioned a million times (if not more).

As we approach the Pavilion we start to see some of the guests. Early arrivals to see Karen and I tie the knot on the most perfect day ever. The wedding planner lead us behind one of the buildings in downtown Seaside where a table (with an umbrella) and chairs were waiting for me. Chris pulled out the beer, and we relaxed while the guests were escorted to the Pavilion and seated.

Am I nervous? Boy am I. In front a crowd of people I have to remember my lines without stumbling. We have some kind sand ceremony, that I know nothing about, since candles on the beach just don't seem to work. You know wind the beach dont' quite mix with candles.

The time has come, holy um... cow, here we are minutes before becoming one of those old married guys, a member of "the club". Now I have to walk to front, step, step, I have to do this right, step. The Pavilion is decorated with flowers on all of the rails and beautiful plants at the front where the ceremony will be ocurring. There are windsurfers in the background jumping waves and doing flips. We can even see someone flying a kite as they run allong the beach. Wow, what a perfect day.

Its nice having my aunt at the front smiling at me, trying to keep my heart rate down to the point where I won't passout. And then the music begins, we all know the music. Those of us who are married know it as the sound of the count down, those who aren't married yet know it as the music of the "hmm someday".

I see Karen arrive at the top of the steps of the Seaside Pavilion, wow, she looks amazing. In her white gown and vail. What an image, the look on my face had to be one of those images of a lifetime. The only thing on my mind at that moment is wow, she looks great. And she's going to be my wife!

The walk to the front seems to take forever, but she finally makes it. And Aunt Dottie begins with the service. The ceremony was amazing and very thoughtful. It brought almost everyone, including me, to tears.

I was so moved by the whole event I could barely say my vows, but we got through it some how. I do!

Wow, I'm married, its finally over and just beginning!

We're escorted past the alter to a special little place behind the Pavilion surrounded by bushes we sneak a kiss just before the wedding party break out the drinks to toast the event. We've had so much fun together preparing for this moment and it all has gone more perfectly that anyone could imagine.

Time for photographs and we had better hurry. The sun is setting very quickly. As we walk onto the beach the sun is already beginning to turn a beautiful reddish-orange. Two other wedding parties invaded our space behind the Seaside Pavilion trying to get the best view of the sunset behind their wedding party.

Almost a year later we're still waiting on the final copies of the wedding pictures. Stay tuned.

  Tooth Whitening Through the Ages

Tooth whitening has been an effect people have been seeking for hundreds of years. The glow of a smile from clean teeth was a symbol of health, wealth status, and family upbringing. Sometimes having a healthy mouth overshadowed tooth whitening, but soon enough it became just as important as having healthy gums and strong teeth.

The Egyptians, Romans, and even during the dawn of man, knew the importance of good oral health. By using chewing sticks, which were small pieces of sticks worn down at one end; this enabled them to scrub the particles off of their teeth after a meal. After all, these periods of the human race needed their teeth in order to survive. The nearest dentist was at least 2000 years away, so dentures were entirely out of the question.

The Middle Ages brought forth the legendary barber and his red and white striped pole, (which was brought forth by hanging blood soaked bandages and clean, white bandages outside to dry, then being wrapped together by the wind, thus forming a pole). The barber, at this time had a dual role of cutting peoples hair and pulling their teeth. This was the important time of tooth whitening because it lead to greater social standing and was a label to the outside world that you had enough to eat, in which case, others did not. So, the barbers role became to not only pull teeth, but to whiten them as well. He would file the teeth down and smudge corrosive nitric acid on them and in turn their teeth would have a beautiful luminous glow to them. However, the effect of this procedure led to the destruction of the enamel and then would lead to decayed teeth. Hopefully by this time they wouldnt have to rely on their social graces to get through life, but on their personality like the rest of us.

The nitric acid (although destructive) was quite popular up to the 1800s, until the Italians came across people with stained, but cavity-free teeth. This was due to the high fluoride soil content. Along with these scientists research and other scientists from around the world, fluoride was labeled to be an important factor in healthy, white teeth. In many parts of the world it was added to the drinking water, thus becoming available to everyone. Even those that were unable to purchase toothpaste or mouthwash. Thanks to this fluoride finding, this gave dentists more time to focus their attention on tooth whitening, which would prove to be more profitable.

To the present day, tooth whitening has become a booming business, with a variety of ways to achieve that radiant smile while satisfying all price ranges. Dentists today, speak more on preventative care in order to have white teeth, such as staying away from coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine, and even some medications. However, for those of us that need our daily cup of coffee and daily glass of red wine, there is a multitude of ways to getting your teeth whitened. You can do it at home by purchasing over-the-counter strips or by going to the dentist and receiving the latest and greatest procedure in tooth whitening (which luckily doesnt contain nitric acid anymore).

Tooth whitening is available to everyone in the world, and youd be surprised that some people (even to this day) still use chewing sticks. However, a radiant smile still means the same thing now, as it did then: health, wealth, and good family upbringing has been replaced with the importance of appearance.
